About Me!

I grew up in Holbrook Arizona, and from as far back as I can remember, I was playing some type of sport. Basketball and running cross country & track became the main sports as I entered high school, and basketball continued through college.
Upon graduating from college, I took a job as the Wellness Coordinator the power company in Nevada. I LOVED my job and helped many people in the company stay fit and healthy through programs offered to employees. But then my company merged, and I moved to the Human Resources Department. I still hand a small part int he wellness program, but it wasn't a top priority of the company anymore.

Fast forward 15 years, and I decided to scale back my career so I could spend more time with our 2 young boys. I actually thought becoming an elementary teacher would give me more freedom and flexibility! WRONG ANSWER!! I spent several years back in school, only to earn 1/2 as much money as a classroom teacher.
Along the way, my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer! He want through chemo, radiation, severe staph infection, 4 craniotomies, and then a few years later suffered a stroke. He has been on long-term disability since 2008, so this made it necessary for me to stay in the workforce to provide for my family.
But last year something happened that altered that outlook. Fittingly, that something was fitness. I have stayed active; moms of boys have little choice but to stay active. While I have hung up the basketball high top shoes, I got into running on a casual basis–enough to run a marathon. But my fitness was never a priority; it could be easily cut from the “to-do” list. After all, I had a family to run and three kids whose needs trumped mine.
In October of 2016, a good friend approached me about participating in a Beachbody fitness challenge. The challenge was an online challenge group with nutritional tips, fitness direction, and motivation and encouragement. After 60 days of beachbody workouts, eating clean, and drinking Shakeology, the results were transformational. I had lost 20 pounds.
Yes, I was leaner and fitter, but I also looked at food and health differently. I was hooked.
So join me in this fitness journey, and let me help you get in the best shape of your life! I won't promise it will be easy...but it will be WORTH IT!!
